Angela Evelyn Bassett (born April 15th 1960) is an American actor. Since the mid 80s she has been working in television and film. She's received many awards, including sixteen NAACP Image Awards. Bassett grew up living in Winston-Salem North Carolina, raised by an Aunt who lived in New York New York. Bassett relocated with her sister to St. Petersburg Florida at age five in order so that they could be near their mom, who was separated from her father. Bassett decided to be an actress after seeing the production Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck, starring James Earl Jones. The year was 1980 and Bassett graduated from Yale University New Haven Connecticut with an undergraduate degree in African American studies. She was also awarded a degree by The Yale School of Drama. At Yale she came across Courtney B. Vance a fellow actor and the two married in 1997. Qualification: B.A. Degree in African-American Studies in 1981. Masters of Fine Arts from Yale School of Drama School. Jordan Park Elementary School Disston Middle School (7th grade), Azalea Middle School (8th and 9th grade), Boca Ciega High School. Angela Bassett plays Ramonda as one of the major characters in the action-adventure film i.e. Black Panther: Wakanda forever (2022).
